When we talk about transferring a domain, we mean that Bacan will become your domain registrar. All changes and renewals to your domain will be handled through Bacan with the help of our domain experts.
Transferring a domain is simple. You'll need:
- The domain's transfer code — provided by your current registrar.
- The domain must not be locked. You can check whether it's locked at www.whois.sc — search your domain and look for the "Status" section, which should say ACTIVE. In any other status the domain cannot be transferred. You can change the status through your current registrar.
- The administrator must be willing to approve the transfer, as they'll receive an email with instructions to confirm it.
- It's wise to request transfers at least 15 days before the domain is due to expire. This avoids unnecessary stress and service interruptions.
